Root Cause Failure Analysis on Large Nuclear GSU Transformer

If you missed Doble’s most recent Life of a Transformer Seminar in San Antonio you likely haven’t seen the footage of a root cause failure analysis we performed on a large GSU transformer.  This customer contacted us to perform forensic services, as they incurred a premature failure on one of their main transformers and had similiar transformers in service across their fleet.  A-Line provided our custom tooling in order to provide a detailed teardown allowing the customer, manufacturer and engineering consulting firm to obtain evidence for failure analysis.
